Annapurna Mountain Massif Region and Its Popular Trekking Routes

Annapurna Mountain is the 10th highest mountain in the northern Himalayan corner of Nepal. Annapurna Region is one of the most amazing and adventure places to do treks. Trekkers can find a larger number of beautiful trekking destinations within the Annapurna region.

Annapurna became the trekking paradise, and this region offers you amazing wonders of nature. This region is in the north of Central Nepal, South Asia. Trekking to the Annapurna region will give you a chance to explore the amazing Annapurna Conservation area. This conservation area is a remote area of Nepal. Annapurna Conservation area ranges is an altitude of 1000m to 8000m.


In 1980, the Annapurna region opens their gate for tourism and since then Annapurna region trekking has been known as one of the world’s best trekking trails by Modern Maturity (USA) according to their survey. The deepest gorge in the world Kali Gandaki and the beautiful white water river Marshyangdi belongs to this region.

Annapurna Massif is also known for the religious proposal because Annapurna means ‘’full of food” in the Sanskrit Language. And it is a two name ‘’Anna’’ and ‘’Purna’’. Many Hindu and Buddhist worship this mountain as a goddess Annapurna (Paravati= wife of Lord Shiva). The first climber of this wonderful mountain is Mr. Maurice Herzog’s book and Louis Lachenal in 1950 June 03. After that many other climbers climb this Beautiful Annapurna Massif.

Annapurna Region is very rich in natural resources and you can see so amazing wildlife in this region.  Annapurna Conservation Area is a home of over 474 unique kinds of birds, 1200 flowering plants, and 102 different mammals.

Flora in this area is amazing bamboo, rhododendron, and oak and pine forest. Annapurna massif gives you the chance to see 13 peaks over 7000m, 16 peaks more than 6000m, and 1 peak over 8000m. Nature gives an amazing natural gift to the Annapurna region is full of Mountains, Greenery forests, unique places, and amazing plants and animals. You can see so many shades of nature.

Annapurna Region is very rich in cultural perspective. This land is the home of many ethnic groups with amazing and beautiful villages. You can experience the unique culture, their different kind of festivals and you can try their beautiful and colorful cultural dress. You mostly find Gurung, Magar, and Tamang peoples. They welcome and heal you with delicious local traditions food during your trek.
